"Blue Lock" is honestly one of the craziest sports manga out there. Instead of the usual teamwork and friendship stuff, it’s all about ego, competition, and being the absolute best. Right from the start, it throws you into this intense battle to become the top striker, and it never really slows down. The Neo Egoist League arc takes everything up a notch with insane matches, major character growth, and some unexpected twists. But at the same time, it also highlights some of the series’ biggest weaknesses.

First off, the action is insane. The art makes every move feel super fast and intense, and the way the characters analyze plays in real time makes the matches feel like mind games. Isagi’s development is one of the best parts...his rivalries with Rin, Kaiser, Barou and the others keep things interesting. Plus, every character has their own style and personality, which makes their clashes even more fun to watch.

That being said, Blue Lock can get kinda repetitive. The whole “ego” thing is cool, but sometimes it feels like the manga is just saying the same thing over and over. The focus on individualism is fun, but you should know this kinda soccer is unrealistic, since teamwork actually matters. Also, some characters get a ton of hype and then just disappear, which can be kinda frustrating. (Bachira I'm looking at you)

Overall, Blue Lock is an insanely fun read. It’s not perfect, the pacing is all over the place sometimes (I'm looking at you...match that started in January 2024 and finished in February 2025 with 47 chapters....), and the philosophy can feel a bit one-note but if you want a sports manga that’s all about hype, mind games, and over-the-top action, it’s definitely worth checking out.

peak, cool characters (some of them may have undiagnosed autism, won't specify but you'd know if u read this manga) icl for teenagers they act hella gay I'm kinda concerned if it's the ball they want or each others ba*** cuz their use of words be crazy. I don't know sh** about football but when I started watching and then reading the manga, I got pretty da** hooked in even though I was avoiding it cuz it was football. I'm just waiting till isagi becomes a real goat tbh

My addiction. Underdog story with a dramatisized/simplified way of life. Story is not about determination and friendship. They tell you to live for yourself. Hope is a fantasy dream, a delusion; real growth happens in despair and depression.
